All therapists that provide field coverage for Guelph Performance Therapy are Emergency First Responders, carry professional liability insurance, and are experienced and qualified in emergency care, injury assessment and treatment, concussion recognition and management, and return to play protocols.
Our therapists cover stand-alone events—such as tournaments, community runs, and corporate activities—as well as provide team support throughout the season for hockey, football, lacrosse and more.
Each package is developed with the needs of the client in mind. Packages can include services such as concussion baseline testing and protocol implementation, train the trainer/train the coach seminars, and warmup/cooldown/hydration education.
Some teams choose to have a therapist at every practice and game, which allows for a strong relationship of trust to develop between the therapist and the coaches/players. Having a therapist on-site allows coaches to focus on coaching and gives parents and caregivers peace of mind knowing that their children are well taken care of on the field. This is an option that we would recommend for any elite team, teams that have a high volume of training, and any team with contact or high-risk activity.
Whatever package is developed, event organizers can depend on professional, competent and valuable service to help keep athletes safe. Quotations are developed based on the number of participants, a risk assessment of the event, and what supplies may be required to offer adequate care.
